Happy Mother’s Day!

Mother’s day is the day I feel most grateful.

Not thanksgiving, not Christmas or my Birthday. But Mother’s Day. I sometimes struggle to even put into words how much I love my mom. I can’t go a day without thinking how lucky I am.

My parents separated when I was very young, and from that point it was my mom and my two sisters. Only now that I am older can I truly understand how difficult this must have been to raise 3 daughters as a single mother. I feel a huge wave of emotions when I think about it, how strong she had to be. I feel so proud of her for everything she has accomplished in her life.

Every Mother’s Day I try to explain to my mom how thankful I am for her continued love and support in everything I do. I write long cards, blubber over the phone or just hug her until she complains. I admit to hugging for way too long. Anyone who knows me knows this about me! But each year I feel unsatisfied. Like she couldn’t possibly know how much I love and appreciate her.

If there was one thing I could thank her for, it would be that there has never been a day in my life where I didn’t feel loved. That is the best gift she could have ever given me.

Since starting my business in October my mom has been a part of every decision. She helps me with so much, never asking for anything in return. And I know she will continue to do so every single day.

It’s been an amazing journey. I have not only had the blessing of knowing my mom as the kind, giving mother that she is but also the strong, inspiring woman she has always been.

Mom – thank you. From the bottom of my heart – Happy Mother’s Day.

Take a moment today and hug, call, or remember your mom. I hope each of you feels as lucky as I do to have such an amazing woman in your life.
