1. Let’s get the obvious out of the way, don’t we. If you’ve been on Pinterest any time recently (are you following us, by the way? We love to share vintage wedding inspiration!) you’ve likely seen this idea floating around. Fill a vintage wheelbarrow with clean ice and then toss in some drinks! You could have water bottles or lemonade for guests at your outdoor ceremony or fill it with beers and coolers for an evening reception. We’ve even seen a wheelbarrow filled with champagne- now that’s some rustic class!

2. Flowers… and lot’s of them! I adore this vintage wheelbarrow filled to the brim with gorgeous greens and lavender. What a statement piece!

3. Use a wheelbarrow to collect cards! If you’ve requested ‘no gifts’ this is the perfect way to collect all those cards!

4. And what about for gifts? It will be easy to transport them when the evening is over!

5. I love this wheelbarrow full of coffee for guests to take home! Can I request this as a favour for the next wedding I’m invited to? Thanks!

6. Speaking of wheelbarrows full of favours… it doesn’t get any more fitting than this! Seed packets make a wonderful take-away for guests so they can, ‘watch your love grow’ along with their new plants.

7. We’ve talked about how much I love confetti before, right? Well, how about a wheelbarrow full of it!? What a fun way to give guests tossing confetti at your ceremony! Add some little bags or scoops to help them carry it along and you’re set.

9. How sweet is this idea! Fill a vintage wheelbarrow with some fresh ice to serve tasty treats to guests while they’re waiting for the reception to start! Bonus points if you have cute flags in your food (always).

10. This little vintage wheelbarrow makes a super sweet escort card display! I’m in love with moss right now (I’m actually working on a DIY with the stuff for March… but you’ll have to wait to see!).

11. Last but not least- you know we had to throw this one in there! It’s actually a French tradition for the groom to wheel (quite literally) their bride in a wheelbarrow to the place they first met. That was back in the day of teeny tiny villages, but the wheelbarrowing? Still very much a thing we hear!

Alright lovelies, that’s all we have for you today! But we want to hear from you- do you have any more clever ideas for a vintage wheelbarrow at weddings? We can’t wait to see the creative ways brides use ours this summer! Out of these, my favourite is most definitely the lavender… but I’m a sucker for lavender. What’s yours?
